SimScale - a revolutionary approach to FEA and CFD analyzes

 SimScale belongs to the revolutionary software on a global scale. Why is it like that? First of all, because this program for engineering calculations is operated from the browser level. All calculations are performed on the creators' server, so we don't need our computing power.

SimScale seems to be the perfect solution for the novice engineer entering the world of FEA / CFD computing generally known as CAE. The user menu (interface) is very user-friendly and clear. You don't need expert knowledge to perform basic calculations.It is a large-scale platform offering calculations from flows, structural strength and coupled analyzes. There is no need to update the software because, as I mentioned earlier, it is operated from the browser level. No matter where you are, all you need is any computer and Internet access and you are ready for numerical modeling.

Creating a free account takes only a few minutes. This option offers 3,000 hours of work per year. This applies to all activities we perform. For an experienced engineer, it takes only several dozen minutes to define the boundary and initial conditions of the model. Of course, it is also necessary to add work on the model (geometry), which we can actually do in free programs such as FreeCad.

A paid account recommended by the manufacturer, it is possible to adjust the number of working hours to the computing power we will use. SimScale for this type of account offers calculations on 96 CPU cores (compared to the free account where there are 16 cores).

In both versions of the account, we have the ability to perform analyzes related to fluid mechanics and structural analyzes.

SimScale provides loading of geometries in most known extensions. So you can work with geometry in virtually all known CAD programs.

What about the software capabilities in terms of the types of solvers?

In the case of CFD, we can use the GPU-Based Latticce Boltzmann Method (i.e. in addition to the CPU cores, you can use a high-performance GPU graphics processor). The fluid mechanics program handles all three branches of thermodynamic phenomena: compressible and incompressible flows, laminar and turbulent flow, and also mass and heat transport.

SimScale offers both statics and dynamics in structural analysis. You can model nonlinear contacts and elastically viscoelastic materials. As an indispensable part of mechanical analyzes, the developers also implemented the possibility of performing modal analyzes. Of course, it is possible to perform thermal-mechanical coupled analyzes and vice versa.
